On May 15, the Senate and House of Representatives of North Carolina once again passed the Taiwan Friendship Declaration. Director-General Eliot Wang was present and received applause from all members of the Senate and House of Representatives!
At this important moment, marking the 45th anniversary of the Taiwan Relations Act, we commend our presidential election and democratic system for exemplifying the democratic values shared by Taiwan and the United States.
The statement also highlighted breakthroughs in economic cooperation between North Carolina and Taiwan last year. A Taiwanese electric vehicle delegation inspected North Carolina's business environment in May, and North Carolina established a business office in Taipei in October to deepen mutual economic and trade ties.
Good things come in pairs. On the night the declaration was passed, the "Tendrum Art Percussion Group" performed at the Cary Arts Center near the capital of North Carolina, allowing North Carolina politicians and citizens to "see Taiwan"!
