General Information for Visa Application
1.Service Areas: Texas, Arkansas, Louisiana, Mississippi, Oklahoma
2.Requirements for a visitor’s or resident’s visa: Click here (http://www.boca.gov.tw/np.asp?ctNode=776&mp=2) to connect to the website of the Bureau of Consular Affairs, Ministry of Foreign Affairs for details.
3.Application Forms: Click here (https://visawebapp.boca.gov.tw/) to fill out application forms. Once completed, please print out the application forms and, along with any other required documents, submit to TECO in Houston to continue the visa application process.
4.Application Fees: (Please note that all fees are listed and must be paid in US currency) Every visa applicant must pay the visa application processing fee for the applicable category, as listed below:
(1)Visitor Visa:
$50 for single entry visa
$100 for multiple entry visa
$185 for US passport holders (regardless of single or multiple entry visa)
(2)Resident Visa:
$66 for single entry visa
$185 for US passport holders
(3)Urgent Application: An application marked urgent is subject to an expedited service fee in addition to the regular fee. Click here (http://www.boca.gov.tw/public/Data/4102315532271.pdf) for fee details.
(4)Methods of Payment: We accept cash, as well as a cashier’s check or money order made payable to TECO in Houston. Please note that personal checks are not accepted.
5.Processing time: If all the requirements are met, an application takes one business day to process. This does not apply to applications that require additional verification outside of TECO in Houston. Please note that applicants are responsible for any delays caused by incomplete applications (e.g. insufficient documents, submitting an individual personal check instead of a cashier’s check or money order, failure to include a self-addressed postage paid return envelope and etc).
6.Submission by mail: Visa applications are also accepted by mail. When submitting your application by mail, please include a self-addressed postage paid return envelope via traceable mail (ex. FedEx, UPS, U.S. Express Mail). If certified mail is used as the return envelope, please do not detach the return label so that TECO may verify receipt. TECO in Houston is not liable for any delays caused by mailing issues.
