The population of Chinese-language learners grows every day and their starting ages are becoming younger and younger, and more and more schools in the states are offering bilingual courses in both Chinese and English. Children’s Chinese Competency Certification (CCCC) is a great indicator to help teachers and parents understand how the children are doing in learning Chinese and then plan for future Chinese lessons or adjust the current learning method and pace.
Children’s Chinese Competency Certification (CCCC) is a Chinese proficiency test developed by the experts and scholars invited by the Steering Committee for the Test Of Proficiency-Huayu (SC-TOP) under the direction of the Ministry of Education of the R.O.C.(Taiwan) and specially designed for non-native Chinese speakers between the ages 7–12. The test content has listening and reading parts and the test is designed in consideration of children’s specific cognitive and linguistic development. CCCC helps test takers to understand their own levels of Chinese proficiency and encourages them to further pursue Chinese through lively and interesting test items.
