Asus introduces its own home robot `Zenbo' to public

Asus Chairman Jonney Shih (施崇棠) introduces home robot Zenbo to people in Taiwan Wednesday.
Taipei, Dec. 21 (CNA) Taiwan-based PC brand Asustek Computer Inc. (Asus) introduced Zenbo, a domestic robot it has developed and produced, to the media in Taipei Wednesday, and announced that sales will begin in Taiwan Jan. 1.
At the press conference, 10 Zenbo robots sang songs and danced to create a festive Christmas atmosphere for spectators, and demonstrated their varied functions as "a smart home manager, security guard, hands-free kitchen assistant, and family photographer," which is how the company describes the robot.
Asus Chairman Jonney Shih (施崇棠) announced at the event that the standard version of the Zenbo has a 32G memory capacity and is priced at NT$19,900 (US$621), while a 128G upgrade version will be sold for NT$24,900.
Sales will kick off in Taiwan on New Year's Day, Shih said, adding that the intitial sale will be limited to 168 units, with shipments scheduled for late January.
