Commissioned by Taiwan’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Ministry of Culture, Artist Michael Lin’s large-scale, site-specific artwork Island Life is inspired by patterns and designs from traditional Taiwanese textiles. The first artwork ever to be commissioned by the representative office, Island Life fills the entrance lobby with an exuberant palette of colors synonymous to the warmth and convivial culture of the lush island of Taiwan. The visitor is immersed in Lin’s expansive painting through its complementary relationship to the architectural space and scale.
