Love Without Borders: A Story of Friendship Between Taiwan and Pope Leo XIV

Today, Taiwanese Legislator Wu Li-Hua shared a heartwarming story on her Facebook page. In September 2020, then-Pingtung County Magistrate Pan Men-An donated a shipment of COVID-19 medical supplies to the Diocese of Chiclayo in northern Peru. The boxes bore the message: “Taiwan Can Help, Pingtung Can Help.”
In a remarkable twist, the recipient at the time was Bishop Robert Francis Prevost — then serving as the Bishop of Chiclayo — who is now Pope Leo XIV.
“It comes from God. God, who loves all of us, without any limits or conditions.”
— Pope Leo XIV
Taiwan will continue walking the path of love alongside the Holy See, sharing with the world the message that #GodIsLove.
