2025 Taiwan Scholarship Programs
To promote knowledge, understanding and friendship between peoples of Taiwan and St. Vincent and the Grenadines, the Government of the Republic of China (Taiwan) is offering two scholarship programmes, namely MOFA Taiwan Scholarship and Taiwan ICDF Scholarship, to outstanding Vincentians to pursue studies in Taiwan commencing 2025 academic year.
Award Period
MOFA Taiwan Scholarship
- Non-degree Mandarin Language Enrichment Programme (LEP): 1 year maximum (not applicable for whole English taught degree program)
- Degree Programmes:
- Undergraduate’s Programme: 4 years maximum
- Master’s Programme: 2 years maximum
- Doctoral Programme: 4 years maximum
Taiwan ICDF Scholarship
Offer only whole English taught post graduate degree programmes (29 programmes)
- Master’s Programme: 2 years maximum
- Doctoral Programme: 4 years maximum
Application Period
- TaiwanICDF Scholarship Programme: From January 10 to February 28, 2025
- MOFA Taiwan Scholarship Programme: From January 10 to March 15, 2025
Requirements
MOFA Taiwan Scholarship
Applicants are required to submit the following documents to the Embassy by deadline and be interviewed by the Embassy. Please note that applicants need to apply for language center admission if the desired degree program is taught in Chinese, or directly apply whole English taught degree program admission. Every degree programme has different requirements and deadlines)
- Supporting admission application materials (e.g. a photocopy of application form or acceptance letter for language training center; information on study in Taiwan is available at http://www.studyintaiwan.org);
- A print-out from MOFA Taiwan Scholarship online application platform (the online application system will be open on February 1, 2025): https://taiwanscholarship.moe.gov.tw/Apply
*Optional: If preffered, a written application can also be sumitted.

(For those who doesn't want to spend a year learning Mandarin Chinese, can directly start whole English taught degree study.)
- One photocopy of applicant’s passport to prove SVG nationality;
- One copy of the highest-level diploma, and a complete grade transcript (which should be in a stamped sealed envelope sent by the issuing school) must be sent directly to the Embassy. Those documents issued by foreign countries must be authenticated by the overseas Embassies or missions of ROC (Taiwan) first;
- Two letters of recommendation.
- Previous Taiwan MOFA scholarship recipients are not allowed to apply the Taiwan MOFA scholarship again.
- To apply BA program, a certificate and transcript from SVGCC level school is a must.

Taiwan ICDF Scholarship
- Applicants are required to submit the application documents online by deadline. https://www.icdf.org.tw/wSite/np?ctNode=31561&mp=2
- Then send a print-out copy to Taiwan Embassy by deadline for interview.
- At the same time, applicants need to apply for admission to graduate schools in Taiwan and every ICDF degree programme has different requirements and deadlines.
- To obtain an admission from graduate school in Taiwan doesn’t mean that ICDF will award scholarship. ICDF will work with school to choose ICDF scholarship recipients.
- Previous Taiwan MOFA scholarship and ICDF scholarship recipients are allowed to apply the ICDF scholarship only after one year gap.
