Tamkang University and Tshwane University of Technology (TUT) have signed an Academic Cooperation Agreement (ACA) recently on the collaboration in the areas of research, innovation and faculty and students exchanges.
TKU is a renowned university in Tamsui District, New Taipei City, Taiwan. It was founded in 1950 as a junior college of English Literature. Today TKU is a comprehensive university with 11 colleges that serves nearly 25,000 students on four campuses. TKU has established partnerships with over 200 sister universities in 28 countries. Its main campus in historic Tamsui is noted for its scenery.
TUT was founded in 2004 and is an important higher education institute in South Africa with 9 campuses. As the number of students registering annually grows rapidly, records show that TUT caters for approximately more than 70,000 students and it has become the largest residential higher educational institution in South Africa. There are colleges of Science, Engineering and Built Environment, Humanities, Information and Communication Technology, Economic and Finance and so on.
The signing of this ACA is set to further enhance academic exchange and collaboration between the two universities for many years to come
