To authenticate No Record of Marriage Certificate issued by the Queensland or Northern Territory Registry of Births, Deaths and Marriages, please refer to the following requirements and submit your application in person or by post.
Requirements:
- Applicant (and your representative, if any) must complete and sign Application Form for Authentication (original).
- Original No Record of Marriage Certificate issued by the Registry of Births, Deaths and Marriages in Queensland or Northern Territory. The search period should start from the day you turn 16, the legal age to get married in Australia. If your search record starts from a later date, please check with the Household Registration Office in Taiwan. If you had previously been married, your QLD/NT Divorce Certificate may need to be authenticated as well. To apply for authentication, please see ”Authenticating QLD/NT Court Documents”
- Your (and your representative’s, if any) valid passport(s). * If you are not Australian, please see note for "Non-Australian applicants" below. For postal applications, please enclose the photocopy of your passport(s) instead.
- Collection:
- In person; or
- provide a prepaid self-addressed Registered Post or Express Post return envelope for the return of your documents (if applicable)
- If you wish to have the authenticated document posted to Taiwan, please arrange for your own courier to collect it from our office during our business hours, or provide your own prepaid envelope (please refer to Australian Postage List. )
- Authentication Fee:
- A$22.00 per document for 5 business days standard application; or
- A$33.00 per document for 1 business day urgent application.
Payment Method:
- Lodge in person: cash only.
- Postal applications: Money Order or Bank Cheque payable to the "Taipei Economic and Cultural Office, Brisbane". (Personal cheque will not be accepted.)

Note:
- The No Record of Marriage should show your full name and matches your name on your valid passport.
- To get married in Taiwan, a certified Chinese translation of the No Record of Marriage is usually required alongside the original No Record of Marriage. Please check with the local Household Registration Office in Taiwan for confirmation. If required, the translation has to be in Traditional Chinese and can be done either in Taiwan or in Australia. Should you wish to apply for authentication of a Chinese translation at our office, you may use our template. Please see Authenticating Translated Documents for details.
