Our heartfelt thanks to our good friends from NSW Parliament and local government, including Anthony Roberts, Matt Cross, Sophie Lara-Watson, Michelle Chuang, Barbara Ward, and all our bipartisan supporters, as well as members of the NSW Consular Corps, Taiwanese community leaders, and think tank scholars for making the “Net-Zero World, Taiwan Action” event at the NSW Parliament a success!
The event featured the global premiere of Taiwan’s UNFCCC project short film Our Pale Blue Dot, along with the Melting Greenland documentary, produced by O’right, a pioneering Taiwanese zero-carbon beauty brand, which was also screened at COP28.
Co-hosted by Director General David Cheng-Wei Wu and Parliamentary Secretary to the Attorney General, Hugh McDermott MP, the event aimed to highlight the need for collective action across all sectors of international society to address climate issues.
As a major economy and a hub for tech innovation, Taiwan can greatly contribute to global climate governance. We encourage Australia and the international community to recognize Taiwan’s contribution to a net-zero world and support Taiwan’s professional, pragmatic, and constructive inclusion in global climate initiatives.
