The consular district of this office includes Greater Ottawa Region, Quebec, Newfoundland and Labrador, and Overseas collectivity of France, Saint-Pierre et Miquelon. We process applications for passports, visas and document authentication within the above-stated areas. Application from other parts of Canada should contact our offices in Vancouver (www.roc-taiwan.org/CA/YVR) or Toronto(www.roc-taiwan.org/CA/YYZ).

Payment is only accepted by Cash (Please prepare the full amount of fees, no change will be given for mailing and in person application.), Money Order, Bank Draft or Certified cheque (payable to “Taipei Economic and Cultural Office in Canada” or " Taipei Eco. & Cul. Office in Canada"). Personal cheque is not accepted.

【Qualification Requirements】
Applicants qualify if they:
- hold Canadian citizenship;
- have NOT previously obtained an R.O.C. (Taiwan) visa for the Youth Mobility Program;
- are between the ages of 18 and 35 on the date of application;
- have arranged an internship, traineeship or job in Taiwan in advance; have registered at an institution of tertiary education and arranged either a traineeship or job in Taiwan in advance; or intend to travel in Taiwan and join the Youth Mobility Program by working in Taiwan (Work should be the secondary, rather than primary, reason for coming to Taiwan; the total duration of stay in Taiwan shall be no more than one year from the date of entry);
- do not list dependents on their application; and
- have prepared required documentation and funds as detailed below, and properly submitted the documentation.
【Type of Visa Issued】
- Type: Visitor visa (marked “WH” for Youth Mobility Program purposes)
- Validity: One year from the date of issue; multiple entries allowed
- Duration of stay: 180 days. Within 15 days prior to expiry, the holder may apply for an extension at the National Immigration Agency service center in the city or county of residence in Taiwan. No further extensions or changes to visa type will be permitted thereafter.
【Required Documents】
- R.O.C. (Taiwan) visa application form for the Youth Mobility Program completed and signed by the applicant
- Curriculum vitae and general plan for stay in Taiwan
- Passport with at least one year of remaining validity as of the date of application
- Two 2-inch color passport photos taken within the six months prior to the date of application
- Proof of health insurance for the entire duration of stay in Taiwan
- Health Check Certificate
- Proof of possession of ticket to leave Taiwan or sufficient funds to purchase such ticket
- Proof of possession of CAD $2,500 or its equivalent (e.g., traveler’s checks or bank deposits)
- A prepaid return envelope (Canada Post - Xpresspost)
- Visa fee of CAD$133
- Legalization/visa application fees are non-refundable once accepted, regardless of approval, rejection, or withdrawal of the application.
