The requirement for Document /Attestation

• Documents originating from South India (Andhra Pradesh, Telangana, Karnataka, Kerala, Tamil Nadu, Andaman and Nicobar Islands, Lakshadweep and Puducherry), and Sri Lanka to be used in Taiwan can be authenticated by this office.

1. Documents submitted for authentication must first meet the following criteria:
   (1) All original documents/copies requiring attestation or Apostille should be first authenticated by the Notary public and designated authorities of the State/Union Territory from where the document has been issued. For example, the document produced from Tamil Nadu, should be attested first by T.N. Notary and T.N. state authority.

( 2 ) After Fulfilling step (1) of attestation, all the documents need to be attested by Ministry of External Affairs or its Branch Secretariat in Hyderabad, Bengaluru, Chennai, Kochi or Trivandrum.

• All Sri Lankan original documents/copies requiring attestation or Apostille should be first authenticated by the designated authorities of the State/Union Territory from where the document has been issued. All Sri Lankan documents have to be attested from their respective Embassy/High Commission or Deputy High Commission in Chennai. Then the documents can be authenticated by this office.
• All applicants must fill in the application forms for document authentication and enclose a copy of the applicant's photo IDs (passport, driver’s license, election commission card, etc), or certificates of incorporation, if the applicant is a corporation, or organization of other nature.
• Power of Attorney (in original) would be required for the agent in case the applicant opts not to personally come to TECC Chennai to apply for authentication, or when corporations, organizations of other nature authorize their employees to apply for document authentication. The agent who comes to TECC Chennai on behalf of the applicants would be required to supply a copy of photo ID as well.
• Attention: If the application is submitted through an agent, power of attorney authenticated by a notary public or the appropriate authorities must be attached, or the application will be refused. Should any false or misleading information be wilfully entered on this form, this will constitute an act of forgery according to the Criminal Code of Taiwan.
• If a Chinese translation is needed, please have it done by oneself or a translator. This office does not offer translation service.

We don't accept application by post, courier, or mail.

There is no submission and collection other than the timings mentioned.
