Representative Phoebe Yeh attended the opening ceremony of 2023 Taiwan Higher Education Fair Kuala Lumpur. 78 Taiwanese universities participated in the fair this year. The event has drawn a crowd. The participating universities have taken this opportunity to demonstrate their highlights and answered questions from visitors.
In her remarks, Representative Yeh welcomed more Malaysian students to study in Taiwan and said that Taiwan and Malaysia have long been close partners, particularly in education. The performance of Malaysian students in Taiwan’s colleges and universities are widely praised by their teachers. More than 100,000 Malaysian alumni have excelled in various fields and served as the bridge for enhancing bilateral relationship between Taiwan and Malaysia. She also applauded the generous contributions of the FAATUM and alumni associations to the education of Chinese Malaysian students and their support for Taiwan over the years.
The guests included Datuk Dr. Tang Yong Chew, chairman of FAATUM, YB Lim Hui Ying, Malaysia Deputy Education Minister, Mr. Tan Tai Kim, chairman of United Chinese School Committees Association of Malaysia, Dr. Nicole Yen-Yi Lee, Director-General of the Department of International and Cross-strait Education of the Ministry of Education, Mr. Wong Yee Yeng, committee chair of the education fair, the representatives from Taiwan alumni associations, Taiwan universities, and local schools.
