Taiwan Rated Among the World’s best Muslim-friendly Travel Destinations

Taiwan has ranked third in the latest Global Muslim Travel Index (GMTI) 2023 report among non-OIC destinations, just behind Singapore and the United Kingdom. Taipei City has also won the “Most Promising Muslim-friendly City Destination of the Year (non-OIC)” for the first time. This achievement reflects Taiwan's government's success in creating Muslim-friendly tourism resources, and its overall performance has been recognized internationally.

The GMTI report was conducted by Crescent Ratings in collaboration with MasterCard, focusing on transportation, social security, and freedom of belief. The report estimates that around 140 million Muslim international tourists will travel by 2023 and 230 million by 2028, with a projected expenditure of US$225 billion.
