Digital Nomad Visitor Visa
- Purpose: To attract digital talents to Taiwan, the government has introduced the "Digital Nomad Visitor Visa."
- Qualifications:
- Only nationals from visa-exempt countries (Including Nationals of the Kingdom of Thailand, Nationals of the Philippines, and Nationals of Brunei) are eligible for the digital nomad visitor visa.
- The Digital Nomad Visitor Visa is intended for those who work remotely, do not provide services to employers or business entities that are within the territory of the Republic of China (Taiwan), and meet certain conditions.
- Requirements for this visa category:
- General requirements
- Philippine Statistics Authority (PSA) Birth Certificate (only those with Philippine passports)
- PSA Marriage Certificate (if a female applicant is married; only those with
Philippine passports) - Other supporting documents may be required on a case-by-case basis, such as round-trip flight ticket, accommodation booking confirmation, no criminal record certification, etc.
- The applicant may be scheduled for an interview if required.
- Notice:
- All documents submitted to this office must be original with one (1) set of
photocopies on A4-sized paper. Original documents are to be returned after
review. - Documents issued outside of the R.O.C. (Taiwan) must be authenticated by the
R.O.C. (Taiwan) overseas mission with consular district over the country where the documents were issued. If the documents are in languages other than Chinese or English, the accompanying Chinese- or English-translation version is also required and must be authenticated by the corresponding R.O.C. (Taiwan) overseas mission. - The Republic of China (Taiwan) only recognizes foreign passports obtained through normal means in accordance with international law. Visa applications using foreign passports obtained through other means, such as investment or procurement, will not be processed by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and its overseas missions.

- Processing Time:
- This office will notify the applicant to pick up visa separately once the application is approved. Processing time is around two (2) weeks.
- The timeframe given above are the general rule. In the event that this office requests additional supporting documents, asks for corrections to documents. or cases for further evaluation, the processing days will be recalculated (based on regular or expedited cases) from the date when satisfactory documents are provided.
- Visas are issued as stipulated by Article 12 of the Statute governing the issuance of ROC visas for foreign passports. As a sovereign nation, the ROC has the right to refuse visa applications without providing any explanation for such decisions; the visa application fee is not refundable.
