| The MOFA Taiwan Scholarship 2025, offered by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MOFA), ROC (Taiwan), will be open for applications from February 1 till the end of the coming March. For the academic year 2025-2026, the Scholarship will be awarded to one (1) qualified students from the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia Afghanistan, Qatar, Pakistan, Yemen, Ethiopia, Djibouti, and Sudan of this Office’s consular district to undertake studies at the undergraduate or postgraduate level in Taiwan.
The Scholarship is, in principle, granted to students from countries that have diplomatic relations with Taiwan. However, special consideration may also be given to students from other countries. Scholarship recipients may study on the following: 1. The pre-degree Mandarin Language Enrichment Program (LEP): Recipients may take the LEP for a maximum of one year at Mandarin-teaching institutions (hereinafter “Mandarin Training Centers”) affiliated with a university or college accredited by the Ministry of Education. 2. Degree programs: Recipients may apply for admission to any degree program leading to an undergraduate, master’s or doctoral degree, excluding in-service programs. 3. Scholarship recipients will be given a monthly stipend of NT$28,000 for the LEP and NT$33,000 for degree programs. 4. Recipients are responsible for all expenses during their stay in Taiwan. MOFA will, in principle, not provide any other subsidies. 5. MOFA will, however, provide recipients with one-way, economy-class plane tickets for direct flights to and from Taiwan. 6. Universities and colleges may offer Scholarship recipients reduced tuition and miscellaneous fees. Eligible applicants from the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and other countries of this Office’s consular district must apply for admission directly to the university or college within its application deadline and submit their application for Taiwan Scholarship through the link (https://taiwanscholarship.moe.gov.tw/Apply). The application timeline for 2025 MOFA Taiwan Scholarship is from February 1 (Saturday) to March 31 (Monday), 2025. Interviews with qualified candidates in person will be required for the final selection process. And, the selected candidates would be notified by June 30, 2025.
