Ministry of Culture of Taiwan, Taipei Economic and Culture Office in Thailand (TECO Thailand), Taiwan Film Institute, Taiwan Docs, Thai Media Fund, SF Corporation Public Co.,Ltd and Movies Matters/Documentary Club proudly present ‘Taiwan Documentary Film Festival in Thailand 2019 (TDFF 2019)’, the second Taiwanese documentary film festival in Thailand.
Aimed to create art and film culture, to create a new channel for Thais to learn about Taiwanese culture and to encourage audience to study various kind of documentary films through selected 9 documentary film programs and 2 shorts documentary programs reflecting Taiwanese culture and way of life, TDFF 2019 will be held at SF World Cinema CentralWorld and Doc Club Theater (Warehouse30) from October 30th to November 3rd, 2019. And at SFX Cinema MAYA Lifestyle Shopping Center Chiangmai and SF Cinema CentralPlaza KhonKaen from November 9th to 10th.
In addition to film screenings, TDFF 2019 will organize Q&A session with 3 Taiwanese documentary filmmakers including LEE Yong-chao (Blood Amber), Elvis LU (The Shepherds) and WU Yao-tung (Swimming on the Highway, Goodnight & Goodbye) at SF World Cinema, Panel Discussion with Taiwan Docs on topic “How government and institutions can support the film industry in Taiwan” and the workshop which directors will exchange their experiences with Thai students, film academics and documentary filmmakers at Doc Club Theater (Warehouse30).
The opening of TDFF 2019 will take place on October 30th, 2019 at SF World Cinema at 5.30 p.m. and the opening film will be Blood Amber, a film by LEE Yong-chao which premiere at Locarno International Film Festival 2017 and Busan International Film Festival.
