Director General Chou met with Ms. Hydi Webb, Director and CEO of PortMiami, to discuss various topics, including the promotion of Taiwan-Miami port cooperation and cruise ship markets.
In recent years, Taiwan has been actively promoting its cruise line industry. This includes the launch of the Kaohsiung Port Cruise Terminal, which was completed after a decade of long planning and construction, earlier this year. Additionally, as of this year, the Port of Kaohsiung has been designated as the home port for Resorts World One, a cruise ship operating for Resorts World Cruises. Moreover, Norwegian Cruise Line has also chosen Keelung and Kaohsiung as its home ports for one of its cruise ships, Norwegian Spirit.
By welcoming these cruise ships to Taiwan, we anticipate the flourishing of ocean tourism in Taiwan, its offshore islands, and the neighboring regions.
