Director General Chou, accompanied by Deputy Director Frank You, was invited to attend the “Asian American and Pacific Islander Heritage Month Celebration” in Jacksonville on the evening of May 14. Also present were the Consul General of Japan in Miami, Ambassador Kazuhiro Nakai, and the Philippine Honorary Consul in Jacksonville, Ms. Sharol Noblejas.
Director General Chou also met with several notable members of the community, including Taiwanese-American Director of Jacksonville Public Works Nina Sickler, President of the Asian American and Pacific Islander Advisory Board of Jacksonville William Vasana, Senior Adviser of the Overseas Compatriot Affairs Commission Paul Liao, and President of the Florida Chinese Business Association Suhwa Brown, and had discussions on various topics.
