Consular Service Office Hours and Schedule
Our consular service counters are closed on federal holidays, California state holidays (including Lunar New Year), and the National Day of the Republic of China (Taiwan) on October 10. Regular business hours are as follows:
- Monday to Thursday:
- 9:00 AM – 10:30 AM: Walk-in services (first-come, first-served)(Limited to 15 applicants ).
- 10:30 AM – 1:00 PM: Services for applicants with appointments(Limited to 25 applicants) .
- After 1:00 PM: Counters are closed for internal administrative processing.
- Friday:
- Full day: Internal operations.
- 10:00 AM – 11:30 AM: Open only for document pickup (for applicants who have been notified that their cases are complete). No new applications will be accepted on Fridays. (Effective starting March 1, 2026)
TECO operates using both an online reservation system and on-site walk-in registration.
1. Online reservation:
- Hours: 10:30 AM – 1:00 PM
- Capacity: Limited to 25 applicants per day.
- Procedure: Please schedule an appointment at www.tecosf.com. Print your confirmation slip and bring it along with your completed forms and required documents.
- Note: Each appointment slot is valid for one applicant only. For 1st-time passport application, please reserve two slots(no need back to back) for time management.
2. Walk-in registration (no appointment):
- Hours: 9:00 AM – 10:30 AM
- Capacity: Limited to 15 applicants per day.
- Procedure: Numbered tickets are issued starting at 8:10 AM on a first-come, first-served basis (issuance may begin earlier depending on the queue).
- Note: Walk-in registration will close once all 15 tickets are issued or at 10:30 AM, whichever comes first. We appreciate your patience if wait times are longer than expected.
3. Document pick-up:
- Hours: 10:00 AM – 11:30 AM on Fridays (Starting March 1, 2016)
- Requirement: No appointment is necessary for document collection.
To minimize wait times, please ensure all required materials are ready upon arrival, including a self-addressed, postage-prepaid return envelope and the exact application fee. We highly encourage mail-in applications, which are processed in the order they are received.
Processing Time: Passport: 8 weeks, Visa: 2 weeks, Authentication: 3 weeks
