Taiwan and Saint Vincent and the Grenadines co-organized the Challenges and Responses to Agricultural Development in the Caribbean Forum on 25 and 26 April in SVG! We invited high-ranking officers, representatives and exports from regional countries, international organizations and the Taiwan Technical Missions in Latin America and the Caribbean region to attend the event. It was the first ever agricultural forum to be held by Taiwan and SVG!!!
Secretary General Amb. Dr. Charles C. Li said that TaiwanICDF aimed to promote cooperation between governments and international organizations through the participation in the forum, and accelerated the agricultural transformation for regional countries.
Minister Saboto Caesar pointed out that SVG was in a crunch time for agricultural transformation, and needed technical supports and capability-building projects from the TaiwanICDF, USDA, and international organizations. He had faith that SVG has been on the right track to a better future.
On 26 April, the TaiwanICDF and Ministry of Agriculture in SVG invited the guests to participate in the plate-unveiling ceremony and field trips at Orange Hill. Deputy Prime Minister Hon. Montgomery Daniel, Ambassador Fan, and Secretary General Li co-hosted the event, demonstrating that farms at Orange Hill were not only a production center, but also an agricultural development hub for the region.
