The Belgian government has included Taiwan on its list of countries approved for non-essential travel, and now regards its epidemiological situation as "Green" per its colour code system.
The rules that apply to travellers coming from Taiwan are:
1. Vaccination: Taiwanese nationals do not have to show proof of vaccination before departing for Belgium.
2. Quarantine and tests: Given that Taiwan’s epidemiological situation is currently designated as “Green” by the Belgian government, Taiwanese nationals do not have to provide proof of a negative PCR test before departure, nor undergo quarantine or PCR tests upon arrival. Travellers who have visited or are coming from “Red light countries/regions”, in which they have spent more than 1 day out of the past 14 days, quarantine and PCR tests will be applied. The colour code system used by the Belgian government to classify third countries is reviewed and changed on a weekly basis. (https://info-coronavirus.be/en/colour-codes-by-country)
3. Passenger Locator Form (PLF): Whatever the designation, “Green”, “Orange” or “Red”, given by the Belgian authorities to a third country, travellers who will stay in Belgium or have stayed outside Belgium before entry for more than 48 hours, have to fill out the PLF online (https://info-coronavirus.be/en/plf). The authorities concerned reserve the right to request that any traveller follow the quarantine measures and PCR tests based on the "self-assessment questionnaire" of the PLF filled out by the traveller.
Taiwanese nationals who would like to visit Belgium are highly advised to contact the local Belgian foreign mission for more information.
