1) Trade:
- In 2023, bilateral trade between Luxembourg and Taiwan totaled $62.44 million;
- In terms of exports, Taiwanese exports to Luxembourg totaled $25.32 million in 2023. The main products exported were aircraft components, cameras, computers, etc. ;
- On the import side, Taiwan imported $37.12 million worth of goods from Luxembourg. The products imported were mainly copper foil, precious metals and metal tools;
- Ranking: in 2023, Luxembourg was Taiwan's 100th trading partner, while Taiwan was Luxembourg's 35th trading partner.
2) Investment :
- From 1952 to 2023, 12 Taiwanese investments were made in Luxembourg, for a total of $639.77 million. Investments were mainly concentrated in wholesale and retail trade, chemical manufacturing, property management, transportation and warehousing;
- From 1952 to 2023, Luxembourg made 114 investments in Taiwan, worth $3,427.84 million. The investments were mainly in the chemical materials manufacturing, electronic components manufacturing, finance and insurance sectors.
3) Taiwan - Luxembourg Joint Business Council meeting (JBC meeting):
- Co-organized by CIECA and the Luxembourg Chamber of Commerce, the conference is held annually, alternating between Taipei and Luxembourg;
- The event usually includes seminars, B2B visits and company tours. It is currently the only regular bilateral economic and business event organized between Taiwan and Luxembourg;
- The first “Taiwan - Luxembourg Joint Business Council meeting” took place in 2007. Since then, 13 conferences have been organized;
- The 13th edition of the conference was held virtually on June 10, 2021, with close exchanges on key topics such as intelligent transport, information security and financial technology. Over 100 companies participated online, and nearly 20 companies registered for B2B sessions;
- The 14th conference was held in Luxembourg on December 1, 2023, during which both sides discussed smart cities and green energy cooperation.
