The Taipei Representative Office in the EU and Belgium, the Association Luxembourg-Taïwan R.O.C. and the Association des Taïwanais de la Grande Région de Luxembourg jointly organized a concert at the Hesperange CELO cultural center in Luxembourg on February 18, 2023. More than 200 people attended and enjoyed the performance.
In a speech at the event, Ambassador Remus Li-Kuo Chen thanked the Association Luxembourg-Taïwan R.O.C. for its long-term support and friendship over the past 35 years. The Ambassador also noted that although Taiwan is far away from Luxembourg geographically, both countries share the same values of freedom, democracy, and human rights. He went on to mention that these shared ideals enabled Taiwan and Luxembourg to jointly promote cooperation in the field of education, investment, science and various topics, which also has accumulated fruitful achievement. Furthermore, last May, the Luxembourgish Parliament unanimously passed a motion calling on the government to further bolster economic, scientific and cultural relations with Taiwan. The Ambassador also cited the concert taking place as a perfect example of the robust cultural exchange and cooperation between both sides.
The performance featured 6 outstanding Taiwanese musicians living in Luxembourg. The concert, combined classical music and Taiwanese folk songs, and was well received by people from all walks of life.
