On June 18, Deputy Representative Roland Yang was invited to celebrate the 35th Anniversary of the Association Luxembourg-Taiwan R.O.C. Among the distinguished guests in attendance were Mr. Jean Spautz, former President of the Luxembourg Chamber of Deputies,Ms. Viviane Reding, former Member of the Luxembourg Chamber of Deputies, and Ms. Astrid Lulling, honorary president of the Association Luxembourg-Taiwan R.O.C.. They warmly exchanged greetings and enjoyed the reception hosted by the Association.
Speaking at the event, Deputy Yang pointed out that over the past year, due to Russia’s invasion of Ukraine, the global political and economic situation has deteriorated, and that tensions across the Taiwan Strait have escalated due to irresponsible unilateral provocation. However, he noted, that the Taiwanese people and government have responded calmly and united with other like-minded democracies to resist authoritarian expansion. He particularly thanked the Association for its long-term support and expressed his hope that cooperation between Taiwan and Luxembourg will continue to thrive and expand across various fields in the future.
Association Luxembourg-Taiwan R.O.C. was established in Luxembourg in March 1988, aimed at developing relations between Taiwan and Luxembourg and deepening the mutual social and cultural exchanges. Currently, registered members come from all walks of life, including Members of the European Parliament, Members of the Luxembourg Chamber of Deputies, economists, and academics.
