The Chamber of Deputies of Luxembourg in support of Taiwan’s participation in the WHO and maintaining the status quo in the Taiwan Strait

The Luxembourgish Chamber of Deputies unanimously passed a motion regarding Taiwan’s participation in the WHO/WHA on April 24, 2024, calling on the Luxembourgish government to continue to strengthen economic, scientific, cultural, educational and public health relations with Taiwan; to support Taiwan’s participation in the WHO and in the WHA at the technical level as an observer; to support Taiwan’s participation in functional international organizations as an observer;to support the strategy of deepening economic and commercial cooperation between the European Union and Taiwan; and to maintain the status quo in the Taiwan Strait.
Luxembourg held its parliamentary elections last October. Within six months of the inauguration of the current parliament, a motion in favor of Taiwan has been adopted, fully demonstrating that the cross-party consensus in deepening relations between Luxembourg and Taiwan.
We are sincerely grateful to the Luxembourgish Parliament for its support for Taiwan’s participation in the international organizations, and for maintaining the status quo in the Taiwan Strait. We will continue to further strengthen Taiwan-Luxembourg substantial cooperation and friendly relations!
