Vermont Senate and House of Representatives Adopt Resolutions Reaffirming Support for Enhancing Relations between Taiwan and Vermont

The Vermont House of Representatives and Senate adopted Resolutions on April 19 and 20 respectively, reaffirming support for stronger relations between Taiwan and the U.S., and Vermont. Director-General Jonathan Sun and Director Wellington Shih of the Taipei Economic and Cultural Office in Boston (TECO-Boston) were invited to the House Chamber to witness the unanimous adoption of the aforementioned Resolution. Director-General Sun was also invited to make a presentation titled “Why Taiwan Matters” at the House Committee on Commerce and Economic Development, in which he elaborated the vital role Taiwan plays in the global supply-chain and Taiwan’s strategic and economic values in the region and internationally. TECO-Boston expresses its appreciation for the assistance rendered by State Representative Michael Marcotte and looks forward to cooperating with the Vermont State Government and Legislature to bolster the relations between Taiwan and Vermont even further.
