The Republic of China (Taiwan) and the United States of America share a strong relationship. This relationship continues to progress in a wide variety of areas including, in part, educational and cultural exchanges, commerce and trade, science and technology.
Taiwan currently has 13 offices across the U.S., including the Taipei Economic and Cultural Representative Office (TECRO) in Washington, D.C., and the Taipei Economic and Cultural Office (TECO) in Atlanta, Boston, Chicago, Denver, Honolulu, Houston, Los Angeles, Miami, New York, San Francisco, Seattle, and Guam.
Through the Taipei Economic and Cultural Office in Boston, Taiwan continues to strengthen ties with the following five states in New England: Maine, Massachusetts, New Hampshire, Rhode Island and Vermont.
Educational and cultural exchanges between Taiwan and the New England region have created lasting friendships. This is certainly evident in the sister city relationship between Taipei and Boston and in the sister state relationship between Taiwan and the states of Vermont and Massachusetts.
