1. Traditional Chinese character is one of the inherent cultures of Taiwan. Comparing to the simplified version, traditional Chinese not only have authenticity of the Chinese language, but also praised by Chinese character experts. The purpose of this competition is to promote the beauty of the Traditional Chinese characters.

3. Hosted by: 中華書畫會、Tamkang University, Sun Yat-sen Memorial Hall, 台北書畫院, International Calligraphers Association, 國際蘭亭筆會, 漢榮書局有限公司(香港), etc.

5. Rules and Regulations
a) All participants must choose regulated number of words from Thousand Word Classic word pool. The number of words limit is illustrated in point C.
b) There is no nationality regulation. Note that application of this competition must be filled completely. Your personal information will be used for this event and this event only. Each participant is only allowed to submit one calligraphy work for Writing and Calligraphy sections. Attendee’s qualification will be canceled if submission is more than one work in the same section, submission is not written by the participant himself/herself, or submission copies other’s work.
c) This competition is divided into two sections: writing section and calligraphy section.
Writing Section
Participant in writing section must write in traditional regular script. Participant’s work is evaluated by the correctness and formality. Participant must choose at least 100 words from Thousand Word Classic. There is no regulation of work size, word size, and form. Punctuation is also not needed in your work. Participant’s signature is required on the work. You may use pen, brush, e-pen, or other electronic tool. Save the electronic file or scan your work and submit by email, and paper submission is not accepted. Note that all submission must be clear and legible.
Calligraphy Section
Participant must choose at least 50 words from Thousands Word Classic, and write the work in traditional regular script, clerical script, or seal script. The size of this competition must be bigger than 35x7cm, and follow the tradition calligraphy format. Also, your stamp and signature are both required at the end of your work.
