1. Location
St. Vincent and the Grenadines is located in the Windward Islands of the Lesser Antilles in the East Caribbean Sea, 20 miles northbound to St. Lucia and southbound next to Grenada.
2. Area
St. Vincent and the Grenadines comprises St. Vincent (346 sq. km.) and the Grenadines - including 32 small islands and cays (43 sq. km. , in total).
3. Climate
St. Vincent and the Grenadines is with the zone of maritime tropical climate. Average temperature falls in between 25 to 31 Celsius degrees. Dry season is from December to April and raining season is from May to November. Hurricanes may pass during the period of rain seasons. As an island country, St. Vincent and the Grenadines is also facing the challenges of global climate change.
4. Population
Its population is estimated at 109,900 in 2017. Ethnic groups include African descent , mixed, West Indian (6%), Carib Indian , other.
5. Religion
People of St. Vincent and the Grenadines are devout. Main religions are Anglican, Methodist, Roman Catholic and Seventh-Day Adventist.
Bilateral Relationship
St. Vincent and the Grenadines and the Republic of China (Taiwan) established diplomatic relations on August 15, 1981 and, based on the shared lofty values of freedom, democracy and human rights, the relationship has become ever stronger.
Over the years since the establishment of diplomatic ties, Taiwan and St. Vincent and the Grenadines have been pursuing the relations of progressive partnership for sustainable development and cultivating mutually beneficial cooperation through a wide range of projects, including infrastructure, agriculture, medical care, education, human resources, cultural exchanges, information technologies, etc.
The government of St. Vincent and the Grenadines has spared no effort to support Taiwan’s participation in international organizations, including World Health Organization (WHO), UN specialized agencies, etc. It is highly appreciated by the government and the people of the Republic of China (Taiwan).
