Visitor Visa
Foreign nationals, who hold ordinary passports or other travel documents, intend to stay in the Republic of China (Taiwan) for less than six months, may apply for visitor visas for the purpose of transit, sightseeing, visiting relatives, paying a visit, attending a training course, receiving medical treatment, or engaging in business or other activities.
Requirements:
1. A passport valid for at least six months;
2. To Fill in application form on line at https://visawebapp.boca.gov.tw , and print out duly completed form, submit with other documents;
3. 2X2 photos taken within last three months;
4. Travel itinerary;
5. Documents verifying the purpose of visit;
6. Other relevant documents.
7. Visa fee: US$50 for single entry (valid for three months); multiple entry: US$100 (valid for one year). For Americans, the fee is US$160. Payments must be made in cash or a remittance to Embassy of the Republic of China (Taiwan).
8. Applications submitted by mail must also include a self-addressed postage prepaid airway bill of FedEx, DHL and the like.
Resident Visa
Foreign nationals, who hold ordinary passports or other legal travel documents, who intend to stay in the Republic of China for more than six months for the purpose of join family; pursed studies; undertake employment; invest; conduct missionary work; conduct official duties; participate in international exchange programs; and engage in other activities approved by MOFA or other relevant agencies at the central-government level.For more information, please visit http://www.boca.gov.tw/ct.asp?xItem=1309&ctNode=778&mp=2
